Annona montana is a tree native to tropical America, whose fruits are ovoid or subglobose syncarps containing approximately 95 seeds. These seeds measure 17.92 ± 1.03 mm in length and 10.74 ± 0.88 mm in width, with a fresh weight of 0.62 ± 0.34 g and a moisture content of 19.79 ± 1.02 %. The embryo is linear and underdeveloped. Within the same batch, fractions exhibiting both morphological and morphophysiological dormancy coexist. Germination is photoblastic indifferent, with an optimum temperature of 25/30 °C, beginning at approximately 15 days and reaching about 75 % by 30 days. The seeds exhibit recalcitrant storage behavior, while the seedlings show rapid growth.
