Cordia alliodora is a Neotropical tree whose fruits are nuts with a persistent corolla, each containing a single seed. These nuts measure 4.22 ± 0.27 mm in length and 3.00 ± 0.21 mm in width, with a fresh weight of 0.16 ± 0.06 g and a moisture content of 8.30 ± 0.87 %, and possess a folded embryo. Within the same seed lot, fractions exhibiting both non-dormant and physiologically dormant seeds (>35 %) coexist. Germination is photoblastic indifferent, with an optimum temperature of 25/35 °C; it can begin around eight days and reach approximately 62 % by 25 days, increasing after prior soaking in water. The seeds exhibit orthodox storage behavior and maintain viability for up to two years under low humidity and refrigeration.
