Cordia sebestena is a tree whose fruits are ovoid and fleshy drupes containing 1-4 seeds. These seeds have average dimensions of 2.21 ± 0.57 cm in length and 1.79 ± 0.81 cm in width, a fresh weight of 1.98 ± 0.15 g, a moisture content of 19.78 ± 1.12 %, and a folded embryo. The seeds do not exhibit dormancy, germinate at an optimum temperature range of 25/30 °C, and are photoblastic indifferent. Germination begins around 15 days and reaches approximately 80 % by 25 days, exceeding 85 % after partial mechanical scarification. Storage behavior is possibly orthodox, but the high initial water content requires prior dehydration to maintain viability during storage.
