Jacaranda arborea is a tree endemic to Cuba whose fruits are dry, dehiscent capsules containing between 11 and 26 seeds. These seeds measure 19.50 ± 1.16 mm in length and 8.20 ± 0.90 mm in width, with a fresh weight of 0.01 ± 0.03 g, a moisture content of 6.13 ± 0.45 %, and an inverted embryo. The seeds do not exhibit dormancy, germinate at an optimum temperature range of 25/30 °C, and are photoblastic indifferent. Germination is rapid and uniform, beginning around five days and reaching approximately 80 % by 10 days. The seeds tolerate desiccation and can be stored under cold conditions after prior drying; however, their fragile seed coat may lead to a relatively rapid loss of viability if storage conditions are not suitable.
