Jacaranda caerulea is a tree whose fruits are dry capsules containing between 10 and 25 seeds. These seeds are 20.85 ± 1.06 mm long and 9.52 ± 0.96 mm wide, with a fresh mass of 0.01 ± 0.02 g, a moisture content of 7.06 ± 0.35 %, and an inverted embryo. The seeds do not exhibit dormancy, germinate at an optimum temperature of 25/30 °C, and are photoblastic indifferent. Germination is rapid and uniform, starting around six days and reaching approximately 83 % by 12 days, which is associated with thin seed coats and well-developed embryos. The seeds tolerate desiccation and can retain viability under cold storage after prior drying; however, the fragility of the seed coats may promote a relatively rapid loss of vigor under unsuitable storage conditions.
