Acoelorraphe wrightii is a shrubby palm native to Central America and the Caribbean, whose fruits are drupes containing a single seed. The seeds have average dimensions of 4.93 ± 0.38 mm in length, 5.17 ± 0.39 mm in width, and 4.56 ± 0.30 mm in thickness, with a fresh weight of 0.09 ± 0.02 g and a moisture content of 22.54 ± 1.77 %. The embryo is linear and underdeveloped, and dormancy is both morphological and morphophysiological. Germination is photoblastic negative, and the optimum germination temperature is 25/35 °C. Some seeds germinate within one month, but most initiate germination later. The initial water content suggests recalcitrant storage behavior.
