Leptocereus scopulophilus is a succulent tree endemic to Cuba. Its fruits are cactidia that produce about 1,000 seeds. The seeds measure 2.84 ± 0.17 mm in length, 1.76 ± 0.09 mm in width, and 1.06 ± 0.07 mm in thickness, with a moisture content of 20.48 ± 1.49 %, and possess a bent peripheral embryo. Within the same batch, photoblastic seeds with physiological dormancy and non-dormant seeds coexist, showing an optimal temperature range of 25/30 °C and a positive response to chemical scarification. The seeds can be stored at room temperature for up to two years without losing viability.
